The ruins of a Gothic water castle, later a Renaissance chateau, located in Česká Lípa. It is a protected cultural monument and a venue for city cultural events and exhibitions.

📜 The ruins of the Water Castle Lipý, originally a Gothic water castle from the 13th century, were later rebuilt into a Renaissance chateau. After World War II, much of it was demolished, but since 1995, the remaining parts have been restored and utilized for cultural events.
🔍 Founded around 1268 by Chval of the Ronovci family, the castle played a key role in the establishment of the town of Česká Lípa.

Getting There

🚗 The ruins are easily visible from the road viaduct passing through Česká Lípa (road Nový Bor - Doksy). It is located near the city center, on the bank of the Ploučnice River, separated by the Česká Lípa - Mimoň road.
