Vrchol Kněhyně
Mountain peak
Kněhyně is the highest peak (1256 m) of the Radhošť Highlands in the Beskydy mountains. The summit is currently inaccessible as it lies within a National Nature Reserve, but the surrounding area features historical partisan memorials and a protected cave.

Why Go

🚶‍♀️ Explore the surrounding area with a suggested visit time of 2 hours.
📜 Discover historical partisan memorials, including a monument to the 1st Czechoslovak Partisan Brigade of Jan Žižka and remains of a bunker.
💧 Find a turn-off to a spring in the saddle below the peak.
🏞️ Witness the protected pseudokarst Kněhyňská Cave, located about 1 km southeast below the summit.
🥾 Hike along the red tourist trail that passes through the National Nature Reserve Kněhyně – Čertův mlýn and continues to Pustevny.
✝️ See the stone cairn with a cross on the summit, even if the peak itself is inaccessible.

Why Avoid

🚫 The peak is currently inaccessible as it lies within a National Nature Reserve.
⛔ No marked tourist trail has led to the summit since 2004.
⚠️ Kněhyňská Cave is also inaccessible.
