Getting There

🚶‍♀️ A red-marked tourist trail leads directly from Děčín city center or Děčín-Staré město (approx. 3km, 340m elevation gain)
🚶 Yellow trail also available from Děčín-Boletice
🚗 Drive to Horní Chlum, then walk approximately 700m on the red trail with a 90m elevation gain

History

🏛️ Built between 1928-1929 by the Mountain Association for Bohemian Switzerland, designed by architect Jahnel
🗓️ Officially opened to the public on May 18, 1930
📡 After WWII, it served as a telecommunication tower, with only the lower platform accessible
🛠️ Extensively repaired between 1996-1997 with support from Děčín city, antennas removed, and reopened on July 12, 1997
