History

💀 Before 2010, the weir was 0.8 meters high and extremely dangerous.
🌊 A powerful hydraulic jump (vodní válec) formed below it, leading to 16-20 deaths.
🛠️ Reconstruction lowered it by 20cm and reshaped it to prevent the deadly hydraulic jump.

Funding

🇪🇺 Funded by the European Union through the Cíl 3 Czech-Bavaria cross-border program.
💰 Grant of approximately €833,000 covered most costs.
