Park History

📜 The garden's history began in the late 16th century between Třeboň Castle and the Svět pond dam.
👑 Expanded and modified in 1602 by Petr Vok, who built a lavish wooden gazebo ('lusthaus') for garden parties.
⚔️ Destroyed during the Bohemian Revolt, it later served as a utility orchard.
🌳 Under the Schwarzenbergs, a new garden design began in 1674, transforming into a landscape park in the early 19th century at the initiative of Princess Paulina ze Schwarzenbergu.
📏 Reached its current size in the 1860s and 70s, despite suffering damage from floods in 1890 and 2002.
🛠️ Neglected after World War II, it housed a football field before undergoing regenerations in 1964–1967, a major reconstruction in 1987–1995, and the most recent reconstruction from 2019 to 2020.
