It is a vertical lift bridge across the Sacramento River, connecting West Sacramento and Sacramento, California. The center section lifts 100 feet above the Sacramento River, allowing large watercraft to pass. It replaced the 1911 M Street Bridge and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.
