Why Avoid

⛰️ Hochalm Hike:
📍 Destination: Hochalm (1428 meters)
📏 Distance: Approximately 6 km
⬆️ Altitude Difference: Approximately 670 meters
⏱️ Duration: 3.5 hours
➡️ Starting Point: Right side of the parking area (east), steep path, follow signs to „Hochalm“ or “Hoch-Alm”.
❄️ Snow leftovers might be present at higher altitudes early in the season.
🗺️ Alternative Hikes: More difficult options (6-8 hours, ~900m altitude difference) are available for experienced hikers in the surrounding Karwendel mountains.

💧 Swimming is possible in the lake during summer, though the water can be quite chilly.

🚗 By Car: The easiest way to reach Sylvenstein Lake, as public transport is limited.
📍 Navigation: Use "Sylvenstein 1, 83661 Lenggries" for your navigation system.
🤝 Car sharing services like ShareNow are a good alternative if you don't have a car.
🏍️ The winding roads to the lake are popular among motorbike drivers.

🅿️ Parking

🅿️ Upon arrival, turn left before the lake and follow the street signs to „Achensee“.
➡️ A small parking lot on the side of the road will be found after approximately 3.8 kilometers.
🅿️ Limited parking options are available before the dam bridge, with more spots found after the bridge on both sides.

🍽️ Food & Drinks

🚫 There are no restaurants or huts directly at the lake or on the Hochalm hike route, so bring your own food and drinks.
🍽️ One or two restaurants can be found along the street after the bridge.
