The world's only surviving Type XXI submarine, the Wilhelm Bauer, is a technical-historical monument and museum ship in Bremerhaven, Germany.

Built in 1943/44 as U-2540, it served as a training ship before being scuttled. Raised in 1957, it was converted into a test boat and rechristened Wilhelm Bauer. Since 1984, it has been a museum ship permanently docked in Bremerhaven's museum harbor.
