Stříbrné jezero, or Silver Lake, is the most popular lake in the Opava region. It's a former quarry that's now a go-to spot for recreation, especially during the summer.
The water gets warm pretty quickly in the season, and it's generally clean, making it great for swimming. There are grassy and sandy areas to chill on, with gradual entry into the water. It's a fantastic place for a walk, run, or just to relax. You'll see plenty of people with their dogs, and there's a path that connects to the city center. Plus, the sunrises here are beautiful.
The area has been undergoing revitalization, so some parts might still feel like a construction zone. Also, the path around the lake can get really muddy after it rains, so watch your step!
Entry to the lake is completely free.
