An architecturally significant reinforced concrete arch bridge built between 1937-1939, connecting Štěchovice and Brunšov. It is a protected cultural monument, notable for being the first of its kind in former Czechoslovakia and for its history during World War II.

History

🏗️ Built between 1937-1939 by Ing. J. Kindl, designed by Miloslav Klement.
⚔️ Threatened by German forces during WWII, but fortunately not destroyed.
👑 Named after President Edvard Beneš in 1946, lost its name in 1952, and restored after 1990.
🛠️ Underwent a general overhaul in 1995.

Technical Details

📏 First road bridge in Czechoslovakia with parabolic hollow concrete arch girders.
🌉 Features a 9.2 m wide bridge deck, supported by steel hangers.
📐 Arches span 113.8 m, with the entire bridge measuring 141 m including approach ramps.
