St. Cuthbert's Cave
A rocky outcrop where monks hid their most holy relic while escaping Danish invaders.

This sandstone cave is formed from a large overhanging rock, supported by a natural rock pillar. Traditionally associated with Saint Cuthbert, a 7th-century Anglo-Saxon monk, bishop, and hermit.
