🌍 Unique Environment

This unique environment, located at 175m above sea level, was formed by a dry climate, high evaporation, and a high concentration of salts (primarily sodium sulfate) leached from Tertiary clays and ancient sulfur springs.

🧑‍💻 Managed By

Managed by AOPK ČR - RP Jižní Morava (part of Správa CHKO Pálava), dedicated to protecting this unique natural area through active conservation efforts.

🌱 Conservation Efforts

Conservation includes grazing by large herbivores to suppress common species and compact the soil, which facilitates salt evaporation and creates bare ground essential for halophyte germination. Removal of invasive woody plants also helps maintain the salt marsh ecosystem.
