📜 The Silver Stream Waterfalls (Vodopády Stříbrného potoka) are a natural monument located in a 100-meter long rocky gorge in the Rychleby Mountains. The water descends 14 meters, creating an impressive system of cascades and unique rock formations.
🔍 The area was designated a natural monument on May 25, 1965, due to its unique geological features and rich flora, including mosses and ferns thriving in the cool, humid environment.
☀️ Hiking to the impressive 14-meter high Silver Stream Waterfalls, which feature cascades, eroded bowls, and “giant pots” formed by water over millennia.
🏄♀️ Experience a captivating natural scenery with lush mosses and ferns in pine, oak, and beech forests.
🎾 Enjoy a peaceful hike through the quiet Rychleby Mountains, away from tourist crowds, with the sounds of the stream and birdsong.
✈️ Nearby attractions include Muzeum Skorošice (local history, crafts, geology), Bučínský vodopád (a 3.5m waterfall nearby), Lánský vrch (a viewpoint with unique large chairs and table), and Sokolí skály (another viewpoint). The area is also a starting point for hikes to Smrk, the highest peak in the Rychleby Mountains.
⚠️ Paths and bridges along the valley may be damaged due to floods (as of September 2024), potentially requiring wading.
⚠️ Direct access path to Bučínský vodopád is not made, requiring leaving the marked trail; caution is advised, especially in wet weather.
⚠️ Parts of the forest road towards Smrk have an asphalt surface, which can detract from the natural feel and be less pleasant for walking.
🏕️ Open tourist shelters (sruby) are available for rest or shelter from bad weather, some equipped with stone fireplaces, and are declared as covered campsites.
🚗 Parking is available at Muzeum Skorošice, or you can drive to the end of Nýznerov settlement to park, shortening the walk to the waterfalls.
🚌 From Žulová, follow the blue marked trail along the stream towards Nýznerov. From Nýznerov, it's about 2 km on a forest asphalt road along Stříbrný potok. Žulová is accessible by train from Jeseník (which is accessible from Olomouc, Brno, Ostrava).
🤝 Lesy České republiky (Czech Forests) are responsible for the care and maintenance of tourist facilities in this part of the Rychleby Mountains.
