Svět is one of South Bohemia's largest and most famous ponds, built way back in the 1570s by the legendary Jakub Krčín. It's a super popular spot for recreation right on the edge of Třeboň.
The main attraction is the 12 km nature trail around the pond called 'Cesta kolem Světa,' which translates to 'Journey Around the World'—a nice pun on the pond's name! It's perfect for a walk or a bike ride. You can also take sightseeing boat trips, go fishing, or just chill out. There are two main beaches, one with a water slide. [1, 3, 4]
Be aware that reviews on water quality are mixed. Some visitors have found the water to be dirty and smelly, even causing a rash, while others have said it was clean. It might depend on the time of year. [2]
There's a paid beach area where entry is about 30 crowns for adults and 20 for kids. [3] Another review mentions a nude beach area behind the spa, but notes there are no toilets there, so plan accordingly. [2]
The pond is located on the southern outskirts of the town of Třeboň, making it very easy to get to. [1, 4]
