The pond offers great swimming, especially at the grassy beach near the Dehtáře settlement. It's also very popular among surfers. A mowed nudist meadow is maintained near Žabovřesky, with privacy from overgrown banks and cornfields.
A small parking lot is available at the beginning of the dam, coming from the Dehtáře settlement.
A refreshment stand called "Pěkná díra" (Nice Hole) is located below the dam.
The entire western part of the pond is a temporarily protected area. 🚫 Entry, driving (within 200m of the cadastral boundary), fishing, and entering with boats or windsurfs are prohibited. 🗓️ This protection is in effect from July 15th to November 30th of the calendar year. 🦆 The pond is a crucial post-nesting gathering place for greylag geese and a stop for many migratory water birds. nesting colonies of common terns and black-headed gulls use artificial islands. 🌲 An island in the southern part hosts a tree colony of grey herons. 🦅 White-tailed eagles winter here.
