📜 Paragliding Launch Site Raná is the main paragliding and hang gliding destination in the Czech Republic, situated near Louny. This versatile hill accommodates various wind directions, making it suitable for diverse flying styles.
☀️ Paragliding & Hang Gliding: Raná is a premier site for both paragliding and hang gliding, offering excellent conditions for thermal and slope soaring.
🏄♀️ Pilot Friendly: It's particularly friendly for low airtime pilots, while also challenging experienced flyers with opportunities for long cross-country flights, with a site record of 198.1 km.
🎶 Events: The site hosts events like the "Hop na sud" amateur precision landing competition.
⚠️ Turbulence: Be cautious of turbulence near the quarry and behind the main peak, especially with east to northeast winds, which can create "devils" (čertíci).
🚫 Rules or restrictions: Parking is prohibited outside designated areas at "U Skleníku". Landing in private fields on the northwest side is generally forbidden, except after harvest and before winter sowing. Pilots must also avoid the runway axis of the nearby airport and be aware of the Prague TMA (FL065) overhead.
