📜 Rabštejn is one of the largest and most famous climbing areas in the Jeseníky mountains, located 4 km south of Skřítek saddle. It offers over 250 climbing routes on solid amphibolite slate, ranging from vertical to overhanging walls, chimneys, and cracks.
🔍 Known colloquially as "Rábl," it's a significant destination for climbers from Moravia, attracting visitors with its varied routes and pleasant amenities like a hut with a pub.

Why Avoid

⚠️ Belaying Challenges: Some routes, particularly older ones, have "moral" (less protected) belaying with bolts placed high, requiring experience and caution.
🚫 Rules & Restrictions: First ascents are generally not permitted on existing routes, and damaging rock surfaces or using winter climbing gear is forbidden.
🚶‍♀️ Crowding: The area can become very crowded on spring and summer weekends, attracting not only climbers but also other outdoor enthusiasts.

Facilities

🚿 Toilets & Water: Usable toilets are available in the hut, and a drinking water source is located nearby.
🏕️ Accommodation: Tent camping is permitted on the meadow below the rocks for a moderate fee, or for Czech Mountaineering Association (ČHS) members on the upper meadow edge. Indoor accommodation in the hut is often booked long in advance.
🍽️ Food & Dining: A romantic pub, located in a former hunting lodge, offers refreshments and a pleasant evening atmosphere.

Getting There

🚗 Driving: The closest point accessible by car is Bedřichov.
🚌 Public Transport & Hiking: Access is possible via hiking trails: 7 km from Skřítek saddle (blue trail), 4 km from Bedřichov (red trail), or from Rudoltice (blue to Hvězda, then yellow to Rabštejn).
