A huge water reservoir located between the towns of Kadaň, Chomutov, and Žatec. It's known for having the largest dam embankment of its kind in Central Europe.
The water is generally clean and warm in summer, making it great for a swim. It's a top spot in the region for water sports, especially yachting, windsurfing, wingfoiling, and kitesurfing. There's also plenty of space for fishing, and you'll find several campsites and refreshment stands around the shore.
The dam was built during the communist era - it can hardly be called pretty
Most amenities are closed outside of summer season
Beaches are not always clean
Entry to the reservoir is free and there is generally plenty of free parking available
