A monument in Taiwan's Alishan cloud forest, erected to honor loggers and placate the spirits of felled trees.

📜 Erected by the Japanese colonial government in 1935, this monument honors 77 loggers and placates the spirits of 100,000 felled trees.
🔍 Each concentric circle around the base symbolizes 500 years of tree growth, with notches on the sides symbolizing saw cuts.
