The middle reservoir is a nature reserve with islands for bird nesting, and the area is a significant wintering ground for Nordic geese (up to 30,000 individuals) and dozens of sea eagles.
A notable landmark is the remnant of the Church of St. Linhart on an island, the only surviving structure from the flooded village of Mušov. It's likely the oldest Romanesque church in the Břeclav region, featuring Gothic and 16th-century murals. Another island is a significant archaeological site with over 2,000 graves from the Great Moravian Empire.
