Milešovka is the highest and windiest peak of the Bohemian Central Highlands, home to a historic meteorological observatory and lookout tower. Now fully reopened after reconstruction, it offers exceptional panoramic views and is a popular hiking destination and national nature reserve, known as 'Thunder Mountain'.

Why Avoid

⚠️ The trail from Milešov is steep and rocky, not suitable for bikes or strollers. Summit accessible only on foot, some trails are very demanding. 💨 Can be extremely windy, especially at the summit. Experiences the most storms in the country, earning its 'Thunder Mountain' nickname. 🤫 Be mindful of observers working at the observatory; quiet entry is appreciated in the mornings. 🚽 No public toilets are available at the observatory.

💰 Cost

Adults: 50 Kč Discounted (children under 15, seniors over 65): 30 Kč Free entry on Open Days. Group tours (up to 30 people) can be arranged in advance (call +420 417 872 101): Basic (2000 Kč / 1500 Kč for children/seniors) or Expert (5000 Kč / 4500 Kč for children/seniors).

⏰ Hours

April - October: Tuesday to Sunday, 11:00 – 18:00. November - March: Weekends and public holidays, 11:00 – 16:00. Closed during dangerous weather conditions.

🍔 Food & Accommodation

🍽️ Chata Milešovka offers refreshments on weekends and holidays, with a view. 🛌 Veber's Emergency Shelter (Veberova nouzovna) provides free emergency overnight stays for up to 10 people.

🥾 Hiking & Getting There

Accessible only on foot via marked trails. The cargo cable car serves the observatory only and is not for public use. 🔴 Red trail from Bílka (2.1 km) or Milešov (2.5 km): Steep and challenging, not bike-friendly. 🔵 Blue trail from Černčice (2.3 km) or Velemín (5 km): Significantly easier routes. ↔️ Lovoš - Milešovka: 12 km along the blue tourist route (summit to summit).

Free parking is available at Bílka, approximately 2.7 km from the summit via the red trail.
