Luhačovická přehrada
A dam reservoir offering natural swimming, though the water can be cloudy. Features a new bike path, walking trails, and several snack bars.

The Luhačovická přehrada is a dam that serves as a natural swimming area and a recreational hub just a 30-minute walk from the center of Luhačovice.

Why go

It's a great spot if you prefer natural swimming and want to avoid crowded places. There are plenty of activities to enjoy, with a new bike path perfect for cycling and inline skating, and scenic walking trails around the water. You'll find several snack bars and cafes, and there's even a rental shop for scooters and skates.

Why avoid

The water quality isn't always perfect; some visitors note it can be cloudy and smell a bit fishy. The beach areas are mostly covered with stones, which might not be comfortable for sunbathing without a proper mat.

Checklist

  • Water shoes: Highly recommended for comfortable entry into the water due to the stony bottom.
  • Mat or blanket: The beach is rocky, so bring something soft to lie on.

Cost

Entry to the area is free.

Parking

Free parking is available on the southern side of the dam, near the autocamp.
