Built between 1967 and 1970, the stadium was officially opened on December 5, 1969.
It has seen significant upgrades, including an extension of the ice surface from 30x30m to approximately 55x30m in 1985, along with improved lighting, sound systems, and spectator tribunes.
Part of a larger sports complex, it includes a multi-purpose hall for hockeyball, indoor sports, and a gym, as well as outdoor pitches for football, basketball, running, in-line skating, tennis, beach volleyball, long jump, and shot put.
