Koupadlo Mnichovice is a natural swimming pool, fed by the Mnichovka stream. The swimming area was recently restored and reopened following a general cleanup of watercourses. The operating season is during the summer months. Historically, it was expanded in 1928 with Elbe sand beaches and even offered swimming lessons.
An on-site restaurant offers refreshments. Historically, a kiosk provided snacks and drinks.
Includes a children's playground, making it ideal for families. In 1928, two tennis courts and one volleyball court were also built, adding to the recreational options.
Accessible via cycle path 0026 ('Do Prahy na kole') and a local bus stop, Mnichovice bytovky, is nearby.
The construction of Koupadlo was the first project of the Okrašlovací spolek (Beautification Society) in 1908, planned by Professor Velflík. It was significantly expanded in 1928 due to high interest, adding Elbe sand to the beach and building tennis and volleyball courts. After WWII, the swimming pool was neglected and eventually closed in the 1960s-70s due to polluted water from Strančice. It has since been restored and reopened, reclaiming its place as a beloved local spot.
Historically, every visitor was required to purchase a ticket for entry.
