This isn't your average lake. The water here is full of alum, which means it's super clean and nothing really lives in it – great if you don't like sharing your swim with fish or algae! It's a popular spot for a summer day out, with plenty to do for everyone.
The water is the main attraction, said to have beneficial effects on the skin. There are multiple beaches to choose from, including a sandy one, grassy areas for relaxing, and even a nude beach. A large floating pier has a slide and kids' pools, making it great for families.
Besides swimming and sunbathing, you can rent paddleboats, regular boats, or paddleboards. For those who want to stay active, there's minigolf, beach volleyball, and table tennis available. The massive Chomutov Zoo is right next door, too.
There is an admission fee around 60-120 CZK per person. Food stalls are available but can be a bit pricey, so you might want to bring your own snacks.
There are three separate entrances with car parks. On hot summer days, the place gets very crowded, and finding a parking spot can be a real challenge. Try to arrive early or take public transport - the lake is conveniently located near "Chomutov město" train station.
