📜 Lom Horní Cerekev is a flooded former quarry located in Horní Cerekev, Czech Republic. It was inundated around 1980 after mining operations ceased and now serves as a natural swimming and diving area.
🔍 Initially a backup drinking water source, it was opened for recreational use in 2003 after the town secured a new water supply.

🏄‍♀️ Explore a popular diving site with a maximum depth of 22 meters, featuring a sandy bottom at 13 meters, various fish species (including perch, bleak, carp, catfish, eel, sturgeon), and a unique 5-meter wooden shark.
🤿 Utilize well-equipped diving facilities including training platforms at 3m, 6m, and 9m, and discover remnants of mining equipment underwater.

Why Avoid

⚠️ The water can be cooler, especially in deeper sections.
🚫 Diving is permitted only through the Pelhřimov Diving Club base.

Facilities

🚿 Two shelters are available for changing and dressing, and a clean toilet is provided at the diving base.

Getting There

🚗 Access by car from road II/112 towards Telč, or via a field road just past the turn-off to Švábov, with parking on a meadow near the quarry.
🚌 Reach Horní Cerekev by train on the Jihlava to České Budějovice line; pedestrian and cyclist access is possible from the train station.

🤝 The diving base and its services are managed by the Pelhřimov Diving Club (Potápěčský spolek Pelhřimov).
