An open-air museum exhibiting 52 century-old buildings, recreating Hokkaido’s pioneer village, split into four distinct zones: Town, Fishing Village, Farm Village, and Mountain Village.

Open-air museum established in 1967 in Atsubetsu Ward, Sapporo, surrounded by an untouched forest. It relocates and faithfully restores 52 historic buildings, many over a century old, the oldest dating back to the 1870s.

Cost

💰 Adults (high school and up) 1000 yen (open-air museum only), 1400 yen (combo with Hokkaido Museum). Free for junior high and younger, and seniors 65+. Various discounts available.

🕒 May-Sep: 9:00-17:00. Oct-Apr: 9:30-16:30.
Closed Mondays (Oct-Apr, unless public holiday) and Dec 29-Jan 3.
Open on Mondays during Sapporo Snow Festival.
