Conservation Efforts

🏗️ Hrad Hamrštejn was listed among the most endangered cultural heritage sites in the Czech Republic in 2008.
🛠️ A comprehensive stabilization and conservation project was carried out between 2010 and 2011, focusing on the northern tower.
🔒 These efforts preserved its authenticity and cultural values, ensuring safe access for visitors.

History

👑 Founded in the first third of the 14th century, likely by the Lords of Bibrštejn, serving as an fortified seat and administrative center.
⚔️ Played a role in the Hussite Wars, captured in 1433, and later destroyed by the Lusatians in 1455.
🚫 By 1558, it was already listed as deserted, marking its decline in the first half of the 16th century.
