📜 Čtyři palice (Four Maces) is a prominent rock formation and popular climbing area located on the peak of Čtyřpaličaté skály (732m) within the Žďárské vrchy Protected Landscape Area.
🔍 It is a protected natural creation, consisting of three main rock formations: Paličatá, Tvrz, and Děvín, along with the Opomenutá ridge.

Why Go

☀️ Rock Climbing: Offers 119 routes on solid orthogneiss. The most popular section, Paličatá, features around 50 routes, many overhanging with difficulties ranging from III to V, making it an ideal training ground.
🏃‍♀️ Hiking & Running: The area is popular for scenic runs and hikes through the Žďárské vrchy, offering beautiful views.

Why Avoid

⚠️ Crowding: Can be very crowded with climbers, especially in summer.
🚫 Rules or restrictions:

• Car access without permission is prohibited; park in České Milovy and walk.
• Movement is restricted to marked tourist paths.
• Descent from climbs is strictly by rappelling.
• The use of magnesium for climbing is forbidden.
• First ascents are completely prohibited.
• Specific climbing restrictions apply to different rock sections:
  • Paličatá: Climbing is permitted year-round.
  • Tvrz: Climbing is permitted from July 16th to February 28th.
  • Děvín and Opomenutá: Climbing is forbidden year-round.
• Any replacement or installation of protection, marking of rocks/routes, or organization of events requires written permission from the CHKO administration.

🚗 Driving directions or parking info: The most convenient parking is on the south side of the village of České Milovy.
🚶‍♀️ Public transport options: From České Milovy, follow the yellow tourist path on foot to reach the rocks.
