The Egon Schiele Art Centrum features a year-round permanent exhibition on the life and work of Egon Schiele (1890-1918), whose mother, Marie Soukupová, was born in Krumlov. This exhibition displays his drawings, graphics, the artist's own furniture, personal letters, business cards, dozens of photographs, the genealogy of his ancestors, and documentation of his stays in Krumlov and the motifs found in his paintings and drawings. In parallel, the center hosts changing exhibitions of classical and contemporary art from the 20th and 21st centuries.Upcoming Exhibitions (16.4.2025 - 4.1.2026):* Michal Gabriel (b. 1960): A cross-section of the work of the original Czech sculptor, featuring famous works including horses, jaguars, sharks, players, and dancers, as well as his latest experiments with a 3D printer. The exhibition will be presented in the halls of the Egon Schiele Art Centrum and partly in the exteriors of the castle in Týnec (near Klatovy).* Alois Riedl (b. 1935): A retrospective for the Austrian artist's 90th birthday. The exhibition shows the development of his internationally recognized work over the last 50 years. Riedl's style oscillates between figurative and abstract painting, and the exhibition traces his creative process from his beginnings as a self-taught artist to his discovery of the circle as an optimal form in the 1990s, which led his work towards three-dimensionality.
