📜 Dračí skály is a prominent sandstone rock climbing area located near Semily in the Bohemian Paradise Protected Landscape Area (CHKO Český Ráj). It offers a diverse range of sport climbing routes across numerous sectors.
🔍 This area is well-known among climbers for its varied difficulty levels and strict environmental protection rules, ensuring sustainable climbing practices.
☀️ Rock Climbing: Over 700 climbing routes across 149 sectors, ranging from easy (I) to extremely difficult (XIa) Anglosaxon grades. Primarily sport climbing.
🧗♀️ Varied Difficulty: Routes cater to a wide range of climbers, from beginners to advanced, with a high concentration of routes in the VIIb and VIIIb grades.
🏞️ Nature Experience: Located within a Protected Landscape Area, offering a natural setting for outdoor activity.
⚠️ Seasonal Restrictions: Climbing is only permitted from April 1st to October 31st, with exceptions for specific rocks.
🚫 Strict Rules: Climbers must adhere to specific rules, including being members of ČHS or foreign climbing associations, using designated paths, not disturbing nesting birds, and avoiding magnesium and other chemicals.
👟 Footwear: Only smooth-soled shoes or barefoot climbing is allowed on the sandstone.
🔥 Prohibitions: Camping and open fires are generally forbidden outside designated areas. Stable anchors for slackline, tyrolean traverses, and commercial use of rocks/summit books are also prohibited.
🎟️ Entry fees: Membership in ČHS (Czech Mountaineering Association) or a foreign climbing association is required.
🚶♀️ Access: Climbers must use public or marked paths to access the rocks.
