📜 History

Originally built in 1864 by František Antonín Thun for geodetic measurements, the tower was designed by Dresden architect Hänel. It served as a provisional lookout tower and later hosted an inn and tourist lodge. In 1936, it famously received the first television signal in Bohemia, broadcasting the Berlin Olympics. After falling into disrepair in the 1970s-80s, extensive repairs in 1992 and a reopening in 2016 restored it to its original purpose.
