Getting There

History

🕰️ Built between 1902-1906 as one of five dams after the tragic 1897 flood, designed for flood retention and flow regulation.
💡 Part of a hydro-energetic system, including a 4.4 km water feeder and the Rudolfov power plant.
🏛️ Declared a cultural monument in 2014.

Technical Details

💧 The reservoir is 15 meters deep with a volume of 2,103,000 m³ and a maximum area of 41.5 ha.
🏗️ The masonry dam is 23.5 meters high and 340 meters long at its crown.

Accessibility

♿ A barrier-free wooden walking path, suitable for wheelchairs and strollers, leads from the dam wall to the inflow of Černá Nisa.
