Built by the Golasowski family in the late 14th century as a Gothic castle, it was magnificently reconstructed in Renaissance style in the 16th century. Jerzy Sedlnicki expanded it in 1560, and it later passed through the Sedlnicki, Czel, Pelka, and Folwarczny families. Significant renovations occurred in the 18th century, 1880, and between 1956-1958.
Its quadrilateral plan features a central courtyard originally surrounded by four wings, with two adjacent to the southern corner still preserved. Constructed from stone and brick with plastered walls, the castle is two-storey with partial basements. The interior showcases barrel, cross-barrel, and sail-shaped vaults, along with beamed ceilings.
Defensively positioned in wetlands among ponds and surrounded by a moat, the castle features Renaissance stone frames on some windows and a notable Renaissance portal on the first floor of the south-west wing. The arcaded courtyard adds to its unique charm.
