Cala Macarella
A stunning beach known for its clear turquoise waters and natural scenery. Reachable via a scenic walk, it offers a beach bar and kayak rentals.

Cala Macarella is one of Menorca's most beautiful and popular beaches, famous for its calm, crystal-clear water and surrounding pine forests.

Why go

Enjoy the incredible views and swim in the transparent water. It's a great spot for snorkeling, and you can even rent a kayak to explore nearby caves. A short 15-minute walk along a scenic path will take you to the even more secluded Cala Macarelleta. There's a beach bar right on the sand for when you get hungry.

Why avoid

The walk from the bus stop or car park is about 15-20 minutes and can be steep, which might be challenging for small children or those with mobility issues. At times, there can be some algae on the shore.

Checklist

  • Good walking shoes for the trail
  • Snorkeling gear to see the local wildlife
  • Cash for the beach bar
  • €1 coin for the shower

Getting there

You can get here by taking a 30-45 minute walk from the nearby resort of Cala Galdana. Alternatively, a bus can take you to a car park, from which it's a 15-20 minute walk down to the beach.
