This neighborhood of futuristic ball houses looks like an alien settlement in a science fiction film. The concrete globes perched atop plinths form an unusual neighborhood in an otherwise nondescript Dutch suburb. Built in 1984 by artist Dries Kreijkamp, these 50 concrete globes are grouped near a canal, designed for experimental living.
