โš ๏ธ Chalk cliffs are fragile and can collapse without warning; always stay well away from edges and bases.
๐ŸŒŠ Beach access is via a staircase of 50 steps, not suitable for all.
๐Ÿšถโ€โ™€๏ธ Terrain is mainly hilly and unmade tracks with stiles and kissing gates.

Getting There

๐Ÿš— By Road: South of A259, between Eastbourne and Seaford. Sign-posted from A259 at East Dean.
๐Ÿšถโ€โ™€๏ธ On Foot: On the South Downs Way between Exceat and Eastbourne.
๐Ÿš† By Train: Nearest stations Eastbourne (5.5 miles) or Seaford (6.5 miles).
๐ŸšŒ By Bus: Regular buses between Eastbourne and Brighton call at East Dean (1.5 miles), seasonal direct service to Birling Gap.
๐Ÿšดโ€โ™€๏ธ Cycling: Network of bridle paths available; cycle stands at rear of coach park.
