Historical Significance

🛣️ Originally a crucial part of the main road (No. 23) between Třebíč and Brno, connecting the town with its Renaissance castle.
🏗️ Built in 1737 by Count Václav Adrian z Enckevoirtu on the site of an older bridge destroyed by a flood.
🛡️ The statues were added in 1744 by the Kufštejn family.
⚔️ During WWII, locals bravely hid the statues from occupiers and demined the bridge for the Soviet army.
🚗 Converted into a pedestrian zone in 1986 after a new road bridge was built, preserving its historical integrity.
🏛️ Original statues are now preserved in the Náměšť chateau cellar, 'Luteránka'.
